I
remember my grandfather giving me one of his old film SLRs when
I was much younger, but I was never able to learn how to use
it appropriately so when a busy schedule made it difficult to
take the time to get film developed I devolved to the realm
of digital P&S cameras. I've fairly recently rediscovered
photography as both an art and a science in my D200 through
the help of Nikonians. It's my pleasure to have the opportunity
to give a little back to the community that helped rekindle
my interest in freezing moments of time. |

I
work in computer software, specializing in enterprise systems
for the financial services and marketing industries. I majored
in political science and computer science and later obtained
my J.D. and M.B.A. degrees. I no longer practice law, but I'm
still licensed in Massachusetts. My first camera was a Brownie
Starmite II. I then "graduated" to an Argus C3 and
super-8 movies. My first Nikon wasn't truly a Nikon, but rather
a Nikkorex F. In 1983 I acquired a Nikon FM and a lifelong hobby.
I'm happily married to my lifemate soulmate, one heck of a photographer
when she gets the urge. Glad to be here. |

My
name is Rick Del Prince, I am born and raised in Western New
York, You can find out more about me by clicking on my profile
icon. Most of the images I post were taken with a Nikon CP950
before I got my D100. Someday I will purchase a decent film
scanner :-) Nikonians has become a part of my everyday
life. I have always felt that it was the best site on the
web for my photographic needs. Very pleased to be a team member. |

I
started fooling around with photography when i was about 20.
My interest waxed and waned over the years for various reasons,
but I finally started taking it more seriously when the youngest
daughter started playing sports in high school. At about the
same time I began to travel more. So I dug out my old physics
text, studied the sections on optics, bought a good book on
basic photography, and learned a lot from all the wise folks
here who preceded me. |

Photography,
specifically photography with Nikon gear, has been a part of
my life for over 30 years, starting with my first Nikkormat
FTn in 1969. Photojournalism training came via the United States
Marine Corps, where I held billets in media relations, reporting,
and photography, as well as broadcast journalism, before being
"kicked up the chain". Retired in 1990, I work as
a weekly PJ for a small paper next to a large Marine Corps Air
Station. Found Nikonians by sheer accident while searching for
"intel" on the N80, and have been hooked since. Through
Nikonians I'm learning photography all over again and very happy
about it. Come visit at the Shooting

while flying on assignment, covering the Blue Angels) |
